Steep Bank Pool on the Kennebago River epitomizes fishing for salmon in the state of Maine. It was a privilege, and a pleasure, to paint Maineʼs own Bonnie Holding (Maineʼs Casting For Recovery Retreat Leader since 2008) with her husband Blaine (also a Master Maine Guide).

Casting For Recoveryʼs coordinator Nancy Taylor, and her husband Don, were my go-between for this most enjoyable commission. CFR is one of the most important non-profit groups in our nation--aiding the concerns of women who are healing from breast cancer.

All proceeds gained from this limited and signed giclee go directly back to Casting for Recovery to help breast cancer victims in need.

CFR provides 2 1/2 day retreats for women who have or have had breast cancer--all at no cost to our participants.  These retreats give an opportunity for women with breast cancer to experience physical, emotional and spiritual healing through an experience that incorporates social support and counseling with instruction in fly-fishing. Casting for Recovery's focus is on wellness, learning, and empowerment, while providing each participant with a respite from everyday routines and pressures. We conduct many retreats across the United States. Each retreat can accommodate 14 women- the optimal number for the program'stherapeutic benefit.

Casting for Recovery (CFR) is a national 501(c)(3) non-profit support and educational program for breast cancer survivors.
